Having grown up in the suffolk countryside I have always loved English summers, this enjoyment has always centred around the outdoors whether it was when I was young, making dens in old trees and ditches, or now when I sit in our summerhouse, dilapidated and rotting as it is, to read a book.
Whether it's a shed at the bottom of the garden or a bench in a sunny spot, I love to be connected to the outside, and I try to fulfil this ideal in the small spaces I design, while at the same time working with a client to creat their dream hideaway, wherther its a bedroom for a child thats growing up and wants greater independence, an office with greater suclsion, a studeo or workspace thats tailored for the task at hand or simple as a comfortable and beautiful place to relax. It seems to me that these sorts of places are of great importance to us, for instance I remember my grandfathers potting shed that had some chairs and a table in it where we could sit and talk while gardening.
Designing and making small spaces is my passion, I love working within the constraints of limited space, often creating a unique character, a place of privacy and an opportunity to fulfil a dream. I want the huts I build to be tailor made for my clients, so that they reflect their surroundings and the persons who uses it.
